The province of Ontario released updated information regarding its COVID-19 Temporary Pandemic Pay program. Key details have yet to be announced and clarity is required before taking steps to implementing. We will provide more information as it becomes available.

Sunday, May 10 is Mother’s Day. The COVID-19 pandemic will make Mother’s Day very different for many families this year. Moms and their family members may not be able to be together. With appreciation to all mothers, we encourage celebrations that respect physical distancing. Combine technology and creativity to visit virtually, send Mom a video, or create home-made signs, gifts or cards.

We are grateful to those who have submitted “Thumbs Up” comments to highlight colleagues. We couldn’t be more proud of the staff and professional who are going above and beyond the call of duty, putting in extra hours and taking on additional tasks and responsibilities during the rapidly evolving COVID-19 pandemic. Here are some recent comments. To submit a ‘Thumbs Up’, email tbrhscgroupsnews@tbh.net.

A big thumbs up goes out to Kristina Visser. She had just returned from maternity leave and jumped into the COVID-19 CNS role on 3A. Not only has she been extremely supportive, but she has been very proactive in keeping us informed and up-to-date with the constantly changing COVID policies and memos. She has been a wonderful addition to the team and we appreciate all of the work she has been doing. We’d also like to thank all of the IP Educators for helping to prepare and train the nursing staff on the COVID unit. Thank you!
– 3A STAFF

I’d like to send a big thank you to all of my teammates from the Operating Room! Nurses, Clerks, RTs, Surgeons, Residents, Attendants, Housekeepers, and anyone else I may have missed mentioning. We are showing our strengths and cooperating as we adapt to new procedures. We’ve been able to continue to protect and care for our patients and each other throughout this stressful time. To all of our team members that have been working outside of the department, we miss you and can’t wait to have you back. Thank you for all that you have done and continue to do!
– Trevor Lee
