March 16, 2020

Effective Today March 16 at 1:00 p.m., staff from NAN offices in Thunder Bay and Timmins will be working from home until April 6. This decision was made to ensure the safety of our employees as well as our communities.

I would like to assure our leaders and community members that essential operations at NAN will continue. As required, key staff will be coming into our offices while we can still do so safely.

NAN staff will be available by phone, email and other forms of communications during regular business hours and after hours as necessary. Our Senior Management Team will meet Monday to review operational planning for each department.

A NAN travel ban is already in place for all staff, and we will respect community infection control measures enacted at the discretion of First Nations to limit or restrict travel to and from their communities.

We ask for patience during this time. I can assure you that we are doing everything possible to assist and support our communities while we navigate this uncertain time together.

-Grand Chief Alvin Fiddler
